Accommodation Pathway Group

The Wales Reducing Re-offending Accomodation Pathway Group is one of nine sub-groups that are taking forward the Joining Together in Wales strategy.

The role of this group is to take forward the aims of the accommodation pathway in Joining Together in Wales (new window), the joint NOMS Wales and Welsh Assembly Government strategy to reduce re-offending, which are:

  • To assess the housing needs of offenders and contribute to research evidence and data to inform future housing provision.
  • To increase the provision of suitable and sustainable accommodation for offenders.
  • To ensure immediate access to housing advice and suitable accommodation for offenders on release from custody. To ensure offenders receive the appropriate level of housing advice and support in the community.

To ensure that all young people supervised by the YOT can access suitable and sustainable accommodation with support where appropriate. The YOT should particularly concentrate on those leaving custody

The pathway group reports to the NOMS Wales Reducing Re-offending Strategy Board.
