Value for money delivery agreement (new window)
The Ministry of Justice has published a document on 18th February setting out the value for money savings that it will deliver between 2008-09 and 2010-11.
David Hanson: local leadership essential to the future of criminal justice (new window)
Justice Minister David Hanson has called on Local Criminal Justice Boards to take the lead in responding to the needs of their communities and delivering improved services. David Hanson made the plea during a speech delivered to the North Wales Annual Conference of Local Criminal Justice Boards.
Home Office Violent Crime Action Plan (new window)
Warning youngsters about the dangers of weapons and spotting those at risk of committing serious violence to stop them in their tracks are part of a package of actions to tackle serious violence unveiled by Home Secretary Jacqui Smith on 18th February.

The Quarterly National Statistics release presents results from a one-week survey of criminal cases completed in magistrates' courts.
The publication a key source of data on timeliness in the criminal justice system, containing estimates of the average time between key milestone dates in a case, broken down by case type and criminal justice area.

David Wood has been appointed as interim Chief Executive of the Office for Criminal Justice Reform.
Reorganising NOMS and HMPS following the Carter review (new window)
The first meeting of the Offender Management Programme Board (OMPB), which was set up to oversee development and implementation of the proposals in Lord Carter of Coles’ review of prisons, was held on Tuesday 22nd January.
Outsiders Inside: Foreign Nationals, Detention and Crime - Perrie lectures June 2008 (new window)
The Perrie Lectures 2008 are being held at HM Prison Service College Lecture Theatre at 10am on Friday 6 June. The purpose of the Perrie Lectures is to stimulate dialogue between the Prison Service, related agencies and those with an academic, legal or practical interest in offenders and their families. Academy for Justice Commissioning Bulletin, Issue 2, February 2008 (new window)
Published three times a year, the Academy for Justice Commissioning bulletin is designed to provide a significant communication channel for commissioners and to act as a focus for learning and development in the commissioning arena. This is the second edition of the Academy bulletin.
