New directors for NOMS

17.10.06

Two new NOMS director posts have now been filled as part of a wider headquarters implementation process.

Chief Executive Helen Edwards says the posts of Director of Performance and Improvement and Director of Commissioning and Partnerships attracted a very strong field of high potential candidates.

The first of these posts has been filled by Jonathan Slater. Jonathan is currently working in the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit where he leads work on the Department of Health to ensure effective implementation of key delivery priorities and reform the health system. Before joining the civil service Jonathan worked at the London Borough of Islington and British Rail.

Julie Taylor has been appointed to the post of Director of Commissioning and Partnerships. Julie is currently working in the London Strategic Health Authority and has held a number of posts in the Department of Health and the wider National Health Service. She has extensive experience both of commissioning and of leading and managing change.

Negotiations are underway about dates but it is expected that both Jonathan and Julie will join NOMS in late November or December.
