NOMS National Standards come into force
01.10.7
On Sunday 30 September, the 2007 National Standards for the Management of Offenders (new window) came into force.
The new Standards pull together the NOMS Offender Management Standards issued in 2006 and the 2005 Standards used by the National Probation Service. They also reflect the lessons from the Chief Inspector of Probation's inquiry into the murder of John Monckton by Damien Hanson and Elliot White.
The aim of the standards is to ensure that all providers of offender management are clear about what NOMS expects, and that offender management is delivered in an integrated, consistent way.
