NOMS Special Report IV looks at Ministry of Justice news

The fourth edition of the NOMS Special Report e-bulletin is published today.

Among a variety of news and views from across NOMS the system is a look at the creation of the Ministry of Justice, which comes into effect on 9 May.

Included in the coverage on the new department, which will be made up of the National Offender Management Service, the Office for Criminal Justice Reform and the Department for Constitutional Affairs, is an item about the NOMS headquarters staff event last week. This event was addressed by the Lord Chancellor, Permanent Secretary of the DCA, Alex Allan and NOMS Chief Executive Helen Edwards.

Also included in Special Report is a report on the progress of the Offender Management Bill along with the work of the Probation Change Programme and its work on the transition of probation boards to trusts.
