A core NOMS aim is to have the same offender manager working with an offender for the entirety of their sentence.
The new way of working under the Offender Management Model (new window) means prison and probation are working closer together than ever before.
We know that re-offending can be reduced by helping offenders to deal with factors such as homelessness, drug addiction and unemployment.
We can reduce re-offending by creating opportunities and providing services to offenders. This is done through NOMS' seven reducing re-offending pathways.
